Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
If using a cast iron pan or baking stone, place it in the oven now to preheat as well. -
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using).

Add wet ingredients: Pour in the water (or milk) and oil. Stir until a rough dough forms. Don’t overmix.

Shape: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat it into a round or oval shape, about 1 inch thick.
