Here’s a delicious Honey Barbecue Chicken Wings recipe! These wings are sweet, sticky, and smoky, perfect for game days or casual gatherings.

Ingredients:

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

For the Honey Barbecue Sauce:

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for richness)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Wings

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and arrange the wings in a single layer.
  5. Bake the wings for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are crispy and fully cooked.

Step 2: Make the Honey Barbecue Sauce

  1. While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it’s warm and well combined. You can stir in the butter at the end for extra richness.
  3. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3: Toss the Wings in Sauce

  1. Once the wings are fully cooked and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl.
  2. Pour the honey barbecue sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Serve the wings immediately with your favorite sides like celery sticks and ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Tips:

  • If you prefer grilled wings, grill the wings over medium heat for 20-25 minutes, flipping often, until they’re crispy. Then toss them in the sauce.
  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them in the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
