  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (any color you prefer)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (about 100g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Slice the sirloin steak thinly.
    • Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes.
    • Thinly slice the onion and bell pepper.
    • Mince the garlic.
  2. Cook the Potatoes:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the diced potatoes to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and dried thyme.
    • Cook the potatoes until they are golden brown and cooked through, stirring occasionally. This may take about 10-12 minutes.
  3. Cook the Steak:
    • Once the potatoes are cooked, push them to one side of the skillet and add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.

    • Once the steak is cooked, mix it with the cooked potatoes in the skillet.
    • Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  5. Add Cheese:
    • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the steak and potato mixture.
    • Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Once the cheese is melted, garnish the skillet with fresh chopped parsley.
