Here’s a classic Slow Cooker Church Supper Spaghetti recipe — perfect for feeding a crowd with minimal effort. It’s hearty, budget-friendly, and ideal for potlucks or community gatherings.

🍝 Slow Cooker Church Supper Spaghetti

🕒 Prep Time: 20 min | Cook Time: 4–6 hrs | Serves: 8–10

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef (or a mix of beef and Italian sausage)

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 jars (24 oz each) spaghetti sauce

  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste

  • 1 cup water or beef broth

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 lb dry spaghetti noodles, broken in half

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Brown the meat:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic and sauté for 1 more minute. Drain excess fat.

  2. Transfer to slow cooker:
Add the cooked meat mixture to your slow cooker. Stir in spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, water/broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  3. Cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours.

  4. Add pasta:
About 30–40 minutes before serving, stir in dry spaghetti (make sure the noodles are submerged in sauce). Continue cooking on HIGH until noodles are tender.

  5. Add cheese (optional):
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the top, cover, and cook for another 5–10 minutes until melted.

  6. Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with garlic bread and salad for a full meal.

✅ Tips:

  • Stir once or twice after adding pasta to prevent clumping.

  • You can substitute whole wheat or gluten-free pasta, adjusting the cooking time slightly.

  • For a vegetarian version, skip the meat and add mushrooms, zucchini, or lentils.
