No-Bake German Chocolate Pie

Posted on June 19, 2025
Here’s a rich and indulgent No-Bake German Chocolate Pie recipe that brings together the classic flavors of German chocolate cake—coconut, pecans, and chocolate—in an easy, no-oven-needed dessert.

🍫 No-Bake German Chocolate Pie

Ingredients:

Crust:

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs (like Oreos, crushed with filling removed)

  • ¼ cup butter, melted

Filling:

  • 1 (4 oz) bar German sweet chocolate, chopped

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip), plus more for garnish

Topping:

  • ¾ cup sweetened shredded coconut

  • ¾ cup chopped pecans

  • ¼ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • Extra chocolate shavings or drizzle for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Crust:

    • Mix chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until combined.

    • Press mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.

    • Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.

  2. Prepare the Chocolate Filling:

    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the German chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Let cool slightly.

    • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, beating until well blended.

    • Add the melted chocolate and beat until smooth.

    • Gently fold in whipped topping.

  3. Assemble the Pie:

    • Pour the chocolate filling into the chilled crust and smooth the top.

    • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until firm (overnight is best for clean slices).

  4. Add the Topping:

    • Just before serving, sprinkle coconut and pecans evenly over the top.

    • Drizzle with caramel sauce and garnish with extra whipped topping or chocolate drizzle if desired.

💡 Tips:

  • Toast the coconut and pecans for deeper flavor.

  • Use a graham cracker crust if preferred.

  • Make it in mini tart pans for individual servings!
