Posted on July 19, 2025

Here’s a fresh and flavorful recipe for Tomato Basil Garlic Bread — perfect as a side or snack with a crispy, garlicky crust topped with juicy tomatoes and fragrant basil!

🍅 Tomato Basil Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian baguette

  • 3–4 ripe tomatoes, diced (or cherry tomatoes halved)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

  • 1/4 cup olive oil (plus extra for brushing)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a little heat

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the bread:
Slice the loaf in half lengthwise. Brush the cut sides generously with olive oil.

  3. Make the tomato topping:
In a bowl, mix diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add red pepper flakes if you want some spice.

  4. Assemble:
Spoon the tomato mixture evenly over the bread halves. Sprinkle cheese on top if using.

  5. Bake:
Place bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. Serve:
    Slice and enjoy warm!

Tips:

  • For extra garlic flavor, rub a cut clove of garlic on the bread before brushing with olive oil.

  • Add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the tomato mix for a tangy kick.

  • Perfect alongside pasta, salad, or as a party appetizer.
