Here’s a classic and flavorful recipe for Savory Herbed Pork Chops—tender, juicy, and packed with aromatic herbs. Great for a weeknight dinner or a cozy Sunday meal.


🐖 Savory Herbed Pork Chops

Serves 4


🔸 Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried thyme

  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary (crushed)

  • 1/2 tsp dried sage

  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat

  • 2–3 cloves garlic, smashed

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or white wine (for deglazing)

  • Fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, rosemary) for garnish


🔸 Instructions:

1. Season the Pork Chops

  • Pat the pork chops dry.

  • Mix all dried herbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.

  • Rub the seasoning mix evenly over both sides of the pork chops.

2. Sear the Pork

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add the pork chops and sear for about 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown.

  • Add smashed garlic cloves to the pan during the last minute of searing.

3. Deglaze & Simmer

  • Reduce heat to medium-low.

  • Pour in chicken broth or wine to deglaze the pan, scraping up browned bits with a wooden spoon.

  • Cover and simmer chops in the liquid for 5–8 minutes, until internal temp reaches 145°F (63°C).

4. Rest & Serve

  • Remove from heat and let pork chops rest 5 minutes before serving.

  • Spoon pan juices over top and garnish with fresh herbs.


🔸 Serving Ideas:

  • Sides: Roasted potatoes, garlic green beans, or herbed rice.

  • Sauce boost: Stir a spoonful of Dijon mustard or a splash of cream into the pan juices for a quick gravy.
