Sloppy Joe Mac & Cheese Wrap

Posted on July 24, 2025

Oh yes — you’re in comfort food territory now! Here’s a crave-worthy recipe for a Sloppy Joe Mac & Cheese Wrap — it’s creamy, cheesy, tangy, and messy in the best way possible. Imagine classic sloppy joe meat + mac & cheese all wrapped up in a soft tortilla. Yeah… it’s that good.

🌯 Sloppy Joe Mac & Cheese Wrap

📝 Ingredients:

For the Sloppy Joe Meat:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

  • 1/2 small onion, finely diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Mac & Cheese:

  • 1 1/2 cups dry elbow macaroni

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

To Assemble:

  • 4–6 large flour tortillas (burrito size)

  • Optional: extra cheese, pickles, or jalapeños for inside

  • Butter or oil for toasting wraps (optional)

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Make the Mac & Cheese:

  • Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to make a roux and cook for 1 minute.

  • Slowly whisk in milk and cook until slightly thickened.

  • Stir in cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Add cooked macaroni and stir to coat. Set aside.

2. Make the Sloppy Joe Meat:

  • In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

  • Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire, mustard, and brown sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Assemble the Wraps:

  • Warm the tortillas slightly for flexibility.

  • Spoon a layer of sloppy joe meat in the center of each tortilla.

  • Top with a generous scoop of mac & cheese.

  • Optional: add shredded cheese, jalapeños, or pickles.

  • Fold like a burrito: sides in first, then roll tightly.

4. Toast (optional but awesome):

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat with a bit of butter or oil.

  • Place wraps seam-side down and toast for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Serve with a side of fries, chips, or a simple slaw.

  • Drizzle with hot sauce or BBQ sauce for an extra kick.

  • Cut in half and wrap in foil for on-the-go meals or meal prep.
