Here’s a quick and simple 20-Minute Homemade Bread recipe — no yeast, no kneading, and ready in under half an hour. It’s perfect when you’re in a hurry but still want fresh, warm bread on the table.


🥖 20-Minute Homemade Bread (No Yeast, Quick Bread)

📝 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for flavor)

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter

  • Optional: herbs, shredded cheese, garlic powder for flavor


🔪 Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 425°F (220°C).

  • Lightly grease or line a baking sheet or an 8×8 pan (if making as one loaf).

2. Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

3. Add Wet Ingredients

  • Stir in milk and oil until just combined. Don’t overmix — dough will be thick and slightly sticky.

4. Shape and Bake

  • For biscuits: Drop dough by large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet (makes ~6–8).

  • For a loaf: Pour into greased 8×8 pan or form a rustic round on a sheet pan.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.


🔄 Variations:

  • Add 1/2 cup shredded cheese and 1 tsp garlic powder for garlic-cheddar bread.

  • Mix in chopped herbs (rosemary, thyme, or chives).

  • Use buttermilk instead of milk for a tangy flavor and tender crumb.
