Here’s a cozy, budget-friendly Hamburger Green Bean Casserole recipe — a hearty, all-in-one comfort dish with simple ingredients, perfect for weeknights or potlucks.


🍲 Hamburger Green Bean Casserole

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups cooked or canned green beans (drained)

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 2 cups frozen or canned tater tots (or crispy fried onions, optional topping)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for extra flavor)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Set oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Cook the Beef:

    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.

    • Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Cook 1–2 minutes more.

  3. Mix the Base:

    • In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Stir until well mixed.

  4. Assemble the Casserole:

    • Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

    • Top with remaining cheese and tater tots (or fried onions).

  5. Bake:

    • Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  6. Cool & Serve:

    • Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Use cream of chicken or celery soup instead of mushroom if preferred.

  • Add a layer of mashed potatoes underneath for a shepherd’s pie-style version.

  • Swap green beans for broccoli or mixed vegetables for variety.
