Vampire Bite Red Velvet Cheesecake

Posted on September 2, 2025

That sounds wickedly delicious! Here’s a spooky and decadent recipe for a Vampire Bite Red Velvet Cheesecake – perfect for Halloween, themed parties, or whenever you’re feeling a little dramatic in the kitchen.

🩸🧛‍♀️ Vampire Bite Red Velvet Cheesecake

A rich red velvet cheesecake with a smooth, creamy filling and eerie “bite marks” made from edible blood sauce. Sinfully good.

🎂 Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs (e.g., Oreos without filling)

  • 4 tbsp melted butter

For the Red Velvet Cheesecake:

  • 3 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • ½ cup buttermilk (or whole milk with 1 tsp vinegar)

  • Red food coloring (enough for a deep red hue)

For the “Vampire Blood” Sauce:

  • ½ cup raspberry or strawberry jam

  • 2–3 tbsp water

  • Optional: A few drops of red gel food coloring for dramatic effect

🧁 Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).

  • Mix cookie crumbs with melted butter until it resembles wet sand.

  • Press firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.

  • Bake for 8–10 minutes. Cool slightly.

2. Make the Cheesecake Filling

  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

  • Add sugar and mix until combined.

  • Mix in eggs one at a time.

  • Stir in vanilla, cocoa powder, sour cream, and buttermilk.

  • Add red food coloring until the batter is a rich, blood-red color.

3. Bake the Cheesecake

  • Pour the batter over the cooled crust.

  • Wrap the outside of the springform pan with foil and place it in a larger roasting pan.

  • Fill roasting pan with hot water halfway up the side (water bath method).

  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.

  • Turn off oven, crack the door, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then cool at room temp.

4. Chill

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

5. Make the Vampire Blood Sauce

  • In a small saucepan, combine jam and water. Heat over low until smooth.

  • Add red gel food coloring for a more vivid blood-red color if desired.

  • Cool to room temp.

🩸 Decorate with Vampire Bites

  • Using a straw or the tip of a knife, poke two small “fang” holes near the top of the cheesecake.

  • Drizzle or pipe the raspberry sauce from each hole to create a blood-drip effect.

  • Add more sauce around the base or over slices for gore factor.

📝 Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream ghosts

  • Red velvet cake crumbs around the edges

  • Edible glitter or “glass shards” made from sugar for effect
