Pico de Gallo is a fresh and vibrant Mexican salsa made with simple, diced ingredients. Here’s a classic recipe:Ingredients:

  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preparation:
    • Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and finely chop the red onion and jalapeño pepper. Chop the cilantro leaves. Place them all in a mixing bowl.
  2. Combine Ingredients:
    • Add the chopped tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro to the bowl.
  3. Season and Mix:
    • Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture.
    • Sprinkle with salt according to your taste preferences.
  4. Mix Well:
    • Gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined.
  5. Chill and Serve:
    • For the best flavor, let the pico de gallo sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
    • Serve chilled as a topping for tacos, nachos, grilled meats, or as a dip with tortilla chips.
