Absolutely! Here’s a delightful and moist orange cake recipe:Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup plain yogurt or sour cream
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Orange Glaze (Optional):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Additional orange zest for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Eggs:
    • In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth using an electric mixer.
    • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Add the plain yogurt or sour cream, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until combined.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Bake the Cake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  6. Cool the Cake:
    • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Prepare the Glaze (Optional):
    • If making the orange glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and freshly squeezed orange juice until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more juice or sugar as needed.
  8. Glaze and Garnish (Optional):
    • Once the cake is completely cooled, drizzle the orange glaze over the top.
    • Optionally, garnish the cake with additional orange zest for a burst of color and flavor.

This orange cake is light, flavorful, and perfect for any occasion. Enjoy the refreshing citrus taste in every bite!
