Salted Caramel Banana Bread recipe

Salted Caramel Banana Bread is a delightful variation of traditional banana bread, adding a sweet and salty caramel flavor to the moistness of banana bread. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

For the Banana Bread:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Salted Caramel Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard-sized loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
  3. Add the melted butter, vanilla extract, and sugar to the mashed bananas. Mix well.
  4. Beat in the egg until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the greased loaf pan.
  8. In a small bowl, mix the caramel sauce with the sea salt.
  9. Drizzle half of the salted caramel mixture over the banana bread batter in the pan.
  10. Add the remaining banana bread batter on top, followed by the remaining salted caramel mixture. You can use a knife to swirl the caramel into the batter.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  12. Allow the salted caramel banana bread to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
