Instant Pot Kielbasa Cabbage Potato Soup

Here’s a simple recipe for Instant Pot Kielbasa Cabbage Potato Soup:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 4 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Set your Instant Pot to sauté mode. Add olive oil and sauté the sliced kielbasa sausage until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the sausage and set aside.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the Instant Pot and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage to the pot and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until slightly wilted.
  4. Stir in the diced potatoes, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Return the cooked kielbasa sausage to the pot.
  6. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and water. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  7. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set the valve to sealing position.
  8. Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  9. Once the cooking time is complete, allow for a natural pressure release for about 10 minutes, then carefully do a quick release to release any remaining pressure.
  10. Open the lid and give the soup a good stir. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  11. Serve hot and enjoy your Instant Pot Kielbasa Cabbage Potato Soup!
