Baked philly cheesesteak sliders

Baked Philly cheesesteak sliders are a delicious and crowd-pleasing dish, perfect for parties, game days, or casual gatherings. Here’s a simple recipe to make them:Ingredients:

  • 12 slider buns or dinner rolls
  • 1 lb (450g) thinly sliced steak (such as ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces (225g) provolone cheese, thinly sliced or shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Optional: Sliced mushrooms, sautéed (if desired)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Steak and Vegetables:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
    • Sauté the thinly sliced onions and bell peppers until they are softened and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
    • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Cook the thinly sliced steak until it’s browned and cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Drain any excess liquid if necessary.
  3. Assemble the Sliders:
    • Slice the slider buns or dinner rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
    • Layer the cooked steak over the bottom halves of the buns, followed by the sautéed onions and bell peppers.
    • If desired, add a layer of sliced mushrooms that have been sautéed.
    • Top the steak and vegetables with the provolone cheese slices or shredded cheese.
  4. Cover and Bake:
    • Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese to create sandwiches.
    • If desired, brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
    • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  5. **Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.
  6. Serve:
    • Once the sliders are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
    • Use a sharp knife to slice them into individual sliders.
    • Serve warm and enjoy!
