Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Certainly! Here’s a recipe for Cajun shrimp pasta:Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces (225g) linguine or fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup (240ml) chicken broth
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Add minced garlic, chopped onion, and sliced bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Allow it to cook for a couple of minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream. Let it simmer gently for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly with the sauce.
  9. Finally, add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and gently toss everything together until heated through.
  10. Serve the Cajun shrimp pasta hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
