  • 6 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

For the crisp topping:

  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For serving:

  • Additional caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or a similar-sized oven-safe dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Toss until the apples are evenly coated with the sugar and spices.
  3. Spread the caramel sauce evenly over the bottom of the greased baking dish. Layer the apple mixture on top of the caramel sauce.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and salt for the crisp topping. Stir until well combined.
