Bread in 10 minutes! No oven

Making bread in 10 minutes without an oven is quite challenging, as traditional bread requires time for proofing and baking. However, you can make a quick flatbread or a simple bread-like recipe that doesn’t require proofing or baking. Here’s a basic recipe for a stovetop flatbread:Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for flavor)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.
  2. Gradually add the water to the dry ingredients, stirring continuously, until a dough forms. You may need to adjust the amount of water slightly to achieve the right consistency.
  3. Knead the dough lightly in the bowl for about a minute until it comes together into a smooth ball.
  4. Divide the dough into smaller portions, depending on how many flatbreads you want to make.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. If using, brush the surface lightly with olive oil.
  6. Roll out each portion of dough on a lightly floured surface into a thin circle or oval shape, about 1/8 inch thick.
  7. Carefully place the rolled-out dough onto the heated skillet or griddle. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through, with a few bubbles forming.
  8. Repeat with the remaining portions of dough, adjusting the heat as needed to prevent burning.
  9. Once cooked, remove the flatbreads from the skillet and serve immediately, or keep them warm in a clean kitchen towel until ready to serve.
  10. Serve the flatbreads plain or with your favorite toppings, such as hummus, cheese, or sliced vegetables.

While this flatbread won’t be like traditional yeast bread, it’s a quick and easy alternative that you can make in just a few minutes on the stovetop. Enjoy your homemade flatbreads!
