Air fryer cheese scones recipe

Certainly! Here’s a simple recipe to make cheese scones in the air fryer:Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, diced
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Extra flour, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper (if using).
  2. Add the cold diced butter to the flour mixture. Using your fingertips or a pastry cutter, rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  3. Stir in the grated cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the milk. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently mix until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat or roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
  6. Use a round cookie cutter or drinking glass to cut out scones from the dough. Place the scones on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  8. Once preheated, lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil. Arrange the scones in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one.
  9. Brush the tops of the scones with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Air fry the scones at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  11. Once done, transfer the scones to a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.
  12. Serve the cheese scones warm, either plain or with butter or your favorite spread.
