Air Fryer Sesame Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Cooking spray
For the Sesame Sauce:
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (to thicken)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (toasted)
- Sliced green onions (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg. In another bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each chicken piece in the egg, then coat it in the panko mixture, pressing to adhere the breadcrumbs.
- Air Fry the Chicken:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd.
