Here’s a delicious recipe for Bacon Cheddar Biscuits that are savory, cheesy, and perfect for any meal:

Bacon Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped (about 6 slices)
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in Butter:
    • Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Some larger pea-sized pieces of butter are okay.
  4. Add Cheese and Bacon:
    • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped bacon until evenly distributed.
  5. Combine with Buttermilk:
    • Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently stir until the dough comes together and no dry flour remains. Do not overmix; the dough will be slightly sticky.
  6. Form Biscuits:
    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  7. Cut Biscuits:
    • Use a biscuit cutter or a sharp knife to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  8. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and cooked through.
  9. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Tips:

  • Buttermilk Substitute: If you don’t have buttermilk, you can make a substitute by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 3/4 cup of milk. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before using.
  • Variations: Feel free to add herbs like chives or parsley to the dough for added flavor.
  • Storage: Biscuits are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.

These Bacon Cheddar Biscuits are perfect as a side dish for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. They’re fluffy, cheesy, and packed with savory bacon flavor, making them a crowd-pleasing treat!
