Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Bacon Cheddar Mini Cheese Balls – perfect for parties, game days, or as bite-sized snacks.


🧀 Bacon Cheddar Mini Cheese Balls

Ingredients (makes about 20–24 mini balls)

  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 4–5 slices bacon, cooked and finely crumbled

  • 2 tablespoons green onion, finely chopped (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

For coating:

  • Additional crumbled bacon

  • Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

  • Chopped parsley, chives, or green onion tops


Instructions

  1. Cook the Bacon

    • Cook bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels and crumble once cooled. Set aside.

  2. Make the Cheese Ball Mixture

    • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, green onion, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika.

    • Mix until fully combined. A hand mixer or spoon works well.

  3. Chill

    • Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 20–30 minutes to firm up (makes rolling easier).

  4. Form Mini Balls

    • Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to portion the mixture.

    • Roll into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

  5. Coat

    • Roll each ball in your choice of coatings: more bacon, chopped nuts, herbs, or a mix.

  6. Serve or Chill

    • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready. They can be made a day ahead!


📝 Tips

  • Toothpick them: Insert small party picks or pretzel sticks for easy serving.

  • Add-ins: You can mix in a little ranch seasoning, hot sauce, or even diced jalapeños for a twist.

  • Make ahead: These store well in the fridge for 2–3 days, tightly covered.
