Baked Cajun Shrimp

Posted on November 30, 2023

Baked Cajun shrimp is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish. Here’s a simple recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spice level)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, dried thyme, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create the Cajun seasoning.
  3. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Place the shrimp in the bowl with the Cajun seasoning and toss until the shrimp are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  4. Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook them, as shrimp cook quickly and can become rubbery if left in the oven too long.
  6. Once done, remove the baked Cajun shrimp from the oven.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the shrimp.

These baked Cajun shrimp make a delicious appetizer, main course, or addition to salads or pasta dishes. They’re bursting with flavor and perfect for a quick and tasty meal!
