🦞 Broiled Lobster Tails in Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce

📝 Ingredients (Serves 2–4):

For the lobster:

  • 2–4 lobster tails (4–6 oz each)

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)

  • 1 clove garlic (minced)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Paprika (for color)

  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

For the creamy garlic butter sauce:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional, for richness)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley (or chives)

🔪 How to Butterfly Lobster Tails (Quick Guide):

  1. Use kitchen shears to cut down the top shell, from the wide end to the tail.

  2. Gently lift the meat out of the shell, keeping it attached at the base.

  3. Rest the meat on top of the shell (“piggyback” style), and make a shallow cut down the top of the meat to remove the vein if visible.

🔥 Instructions:

1. Prep Lobster for Broiling

  • Preheat broiler on high. Move rack to the top third of oven.

  • Mix 2 tbsp melted butter, 1 minced garlic clove, a pinch of salt, pepper, and paprika.

  • Brush this mixture generously over the exposed lobster meat.

2. Broil Lobster

  • Place lobster tails on a baking sheet, shell-side down.

  • Broil for 6–8 minutes, depending on size, until the meat is opaque and lightly browned on top.

  • Tip: Keep a close eye — overcooked lobster becomes rubbery.

3. Make Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce

  • While the lobster is broiling, melt 2 tbsp butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  • Add garlic, and sauté until fragrant (1 minute).

  • Stir in heavy cream, bring to a low simmer.

  • Add Parmesan (optional), lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  • Stir in chopped parsley right before serving.

4. Serve

  • Plate the lobster tails and drizzle generously with the creamy garlic butter sauce.

  • Serve with extra lemon wedges, crusty bread, or over mashed potatoes or pasta.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions:

  • Sides: roasted asparagus, buttered green beans, lemon risotto, or garlic mashed potatoes.

  • Wine Pairing: buttery Chardonnay or crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

💡 Tips:

  • Don’t skip the lemon — it balances the richness beautifully.

  • You can use the same recipe for jumbo shrimp or scallops if lobster isn’t available.

  • Want extra flair? Sprinkle with panko and broil for the last minute for a crispy top.
