Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Chicken Steak with Chips, Mushrooms, and Cucumber Salad:

Chicken Steak with Chips, Mushrooms, and Cucumber Salad

Ingredients:

  • For the Chicken Steak:
    • 2 boneless chicken breasts
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
    • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
  • For the Chips (Fries):
    • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thick chips
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • Salt, to taste
    • Optional: Paprika or garlic powder for seasoning
  • For the Sautéed Mushrooms:
    • 1 cup button mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • For the Cucumber Salad:
    • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • Optional: Fresh dill or parsley, chopped

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Chips:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Toss the potato chips with olive oil, salt, and optional seasonings.
  • Spread the chips out in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.

2. Cook the Chicken Steak:

  • While the chips are baking, season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook the chicken breasts for 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

3. Sauté the Mushrooms:

  • In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-6 minutes, until they are browned and tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Make the Cucumber Salad:

  • In a bowl, toss the sliced cucumber with olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Add fresh dill or parsley if desired.

5. Serve:

  • Plate the sliced chicken steak with a side of crispy chips, sautéed mushrooms, and cucumber salad.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Tips:

  • Chicken: You can pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for more even cooking.
  • Mushrooms: Add a splash of white wine or balsamic vinegar to the mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Cucumber Salad: You can also add thinly sliced red onions or cherry tomatoes to the salad for added color and taste.

This meal is a perfect combination of savory chicken, crispy chips, earthy mushrooms, and a refreshing cucumber salad. Simple yet satisfying!
