Ingredients
- 1/2 lb (225g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb (225g) Chinese sausage (lap cheong), thinly sliced
- 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Peel and devein the shrimp.
- Thinly slice the Chinese sausage.
- Chop the cabbage, julienne the carrot, and thinly slice the red bell pepper.
- Mince the garlic and ginger.
- Cook the Chinese Sausage:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced Chinese sausage and cook until it starts to brown and release its fat, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the sausage from the wok and set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp:
- In the same wok, add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the shrimp from the wok and set aside with the sausage.
- Stir-fry the Vegetables:
- Add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok.
- Add the garlic and ginger, and stir-fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the chopped cabbage, julienned carrot, and sliced red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
- Combine Everything:
- Return the cooked sausage and shrimp to the wok with the vegetables.
- Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve:
- Garnish with sliced green onions.
- Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles if desired.
