Here’s a classic, luscious, and surprisingly simple recipe for Chocolate Mousse—light, silky, and decadent. 🍫✨ Perfect for date night, dinner parties, or when you just want a rich chocolate fix.


🍫 Classic Chocolate Mousse

✅ Airy and rich

✅ Only a few ingredients

✅ No baking required


🧂 Ingredients (Serves 4–6):

  • 6 oz (170g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 large eggs, separated

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Melt the Chocolate:

    • In a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water (double boiler), melt chocolate and butter together until smooth.

    • Let it cool slightly.

  2. Whip Egg Whites:

    • In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until soft peaks form.

    • Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

  3. Whip the Cream:

    • In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream and vanilla until soft peaks form. Set aside.

  4. Mix Egg Yolks:

    • Stir egg yolks into the slightly cooled chocolate mixture (make sure it’s not hot, or the yolks will scramble).

  5. Fold It All Together:

    • Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.

    • Then fold in the egg whites in 2–3 additions, being careful not to deflate the mixture.

  6. Chill:

    • Spoon into individual cups or bowls.

    • Chill for at least 2 hours (or overnight) until set.


🍓 Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream

  • Shaved chocolate or cocoa powder

  • Fresh berries

  • Crushed cookies or nuts


❄️ Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate—it makes a big difference.

  • For a shortcut version, fold melted chocolate into whipped cream only (no eggs)—delicious, but a bit denser.

  • Make it ahead—mousse tastes even better after a day in the fridge!
