🧁 Creamy Milk Cake Recipe
📝 Ingredients:
For the Cake:
-
1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
5 large eggs, separated
-
3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
-
1/4 cup (60ml) milk
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Milk Soak:
-
1 can (14 oz / 400ml) sweetened condensed milk
-
1 can (12 oz / 354ml) evaporated milk
-
1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
For the Topping:
-
1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream
-
2–3 tbsp powdered sugar
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Bake the Cake:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) pan.
-
In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with 1/2 cup sugar until pale and thick. Stir in the milk and vanilla.
-
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the egg yolk mixture.
-
In another clean bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Add the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
-
Gently fold the egg whites into the batter, trying not to deflate it.
-
Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
-
Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
2. Prepare the Milk Mixture:
-
In a bowl or pitcher, whisk together condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream.
3. Soak the Cake:
-
Once the cake is cool, poke holes all over the top using a skewer or fork.
-
Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, letting it absorb fully. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best results).
4. Whipped Cream Topping:
-
Beat the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
-
Spread over the chilled cake.
🍓 Optional Toppings:
-
Fresh fruit (e.g., strawberries, mango, berries)
-
Caramel drizzle
-
Crushed nuts or toasted coconut
