🧪🎨 Fireworks in a Cup (Science Experiment Version)
A fun, safe way to “explode” color in a glass using oil, water, and food coloring.
🧂 What You Need:
-
1 clear cup or jar
-
Warm water (¾ full in the cup)
-
2–3 tbsp vegetable oil
-
Several drops of food coloring (multiple colors)
-
A fork or whisk
🧪 How To Do It:
-
Fill your clear cup ¾ full with warm water.
-
In a separate small bowl, mix the food coloring into the oil. Stir briefly with a fork to break up the drops a little.
-
Pour the oil mixture into the water.
-
Watch the show! The food coloring will slowly sink and “explode” in the water like tiny fireworks 🌈💥
🔬 Why It Works:
Oil and water don’t mix, so the food coloring (which is water-based) sinks through the oil and disperses when it hits the water, creating a firework effect.
