🍓 Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches Recipe
Ingredients:
For the filling:
-
8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
-
1/4 cup powdered sugar
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-
1/2 cup diced fresh strawberries (or strawberry jam for a shortcut)
For the sandwich:
-
8 slices of white bread (crusts removed)
-
2 eggs
-
1/4 cup milk
-
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
-
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for dusting)
-
Butter or oil for frying
Instructions:
-
Make the Filling:
-
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
-
Gently fold in the strawberries (or use strawberry jam if you prefer a smoother texture).
-
-
Assemble the Sandwiches:
-
Flatten the bread slices slightly with a rolling pin.
-
Spread a generous spoonful of cheesecake filling on one slice of bread.
-
Top with another slice to make a sandwich. Press the edges to seal (you can use a fork or slightly dampen the edges with water to help seal).
-
-
Prepare for Frying:
-
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon.
-
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
-
-
Fry:
-
Heat butter or oil in a pan over medium heat.
-
Fry each sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
-
-
Finish:
-
Remove from pan and drain on paper towels.
-
While still warm, toss or sprinkle with granulated sugar (or a cinnamon-sugar mix for extra flavor).
-
-
Serve:
-
Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar, a drizzle of chocolate or strawberry sauce, or a scoop of ice cream.
-
🍴 Tips:
-
Want an extra gooey inside? Add a bit of strawberry jam in addition to the fresh berries.
-
Try using brioche or challah bread for an even richer texture.
-
You can also air-fry or bake them if you prefer a lighter version.
