🍫 Homemade Crispy Chocolate Bars
🍽️ Yields: 12–16 squares
⏱️ Time: 10 mins prep · 1 hour chill
🧾 Ingredients:
-
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
-
½ cup peanut butter (creamy works best, or use almond/sunflower butter for variation)
-
3 cups crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
-
1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra smoothness)
-
Pinch of salt
-
Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract
🔪 Instructions:
-
Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper or foil for easy removal.
-
In a microwave-safe bowl (or using a double boiler), melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in 30-second bursts, stirring in between until smooth.
-
Stir in vanilla extract and salt (if using).
-
Gently fold in the crispy rice cereal until fully coated.
-
Press mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to flatten the top.
-
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
-
Slice into bars or squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week (or freeze for longer!).
🍫✨ Variations:
-
Add mini marshmallows or chopped nuts for texture.
-
Use white chocolate or dark chocolate for a twist.
-
Drizzle melted chocolate or sprinkle sea salt on top before chilling for a gourmet finish.
