Homemade Garlic Spread for Breads

Posted on February 7, 2024
Homemade garlic spread is a delicious addition to bread and can elevate the flavor of many dishes. Here’s a simple recipe to make your own garlic spread:Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, and finely chopped fresh parsley, if using.
  2. Mix the ingredients together until well combined. You can use a fork, spatula, or electric mixer for this step.
  3. Season the garlic spread with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that butter already contains salt, so you may not need much additional salt.
  4. Once the garlic spread is well mixed and seasoned, transfer it to a small serving dish or container.
  5. You can use the garlic spread immediately, or cover it and refrigerate it for later use. If refrigerated, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving to soften.
  6. Spread the garlic spread generously onto slices of bread, baguette, or dinner rolls. You can also use it as a topping for grilled or toasted bread, garlic bread, or as a flavor enhancer for various dishes.
  7. Enjoy your homemade garlic spread with your favorite breads or dishes!

This homemade garlic spread is versatile and can be customized to suit your taste preferences. Feel free to add other herbs or seasonings such as basil, oregano, or Parmesan cheese for additional flavor variations.
