Honey steak

Posted on October 1, 2023
Honey glazed steak is a delicious dish that combines the savory flavors of steak with the sweetness of honey. Here’s a simple recipe for honey-glazed steak:Ingredients:

  • 2 ribeye steaks or your preferred steak cut
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional for added depth)
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary) for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steaks: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Marinate the Steaks: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and Dijon mustard if using. Place the steaks in a shallow dish and pour half of the honey mixture over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat the Grill or Pan: Preheat your grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil.
  4. Cook the Steaks: Remove the steaks from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Reserve the marinade for later. Place the steaks on the hot grill or pan and cook to your desired level of doneness, typically 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness of the steaks.
  5. Make the Glaze: While the steaks are cooking, pour the reserved honey mixture into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat and let it cook for a few minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  6. Glaze the Steaks: In the last minute of cooking, brush the honey glaze over the steaks, turning them to coat both sides. This will create a flavorful and shiny glaze.
  7. Rest the Steaks: Once the steaks reach your desired doneness, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
  8. Serve: Slice the steaks against the grain, drizzle with any remaining glaze, and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Enjoy your honey-glazed steaks! They pair well with a variety of side dishes like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad.
