Krispy Kreme Peach Cobbler Doughnuts Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Doughnuts:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Peach Filling:

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen peaches (diced)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • Pinch of salt

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Peach Filling:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the diced peaches, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and salt.
  • In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in a tablespoon of water and add it to the peach mixture. Stir well.
  • Cook the peach mixture for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently until it thickens and becomes syrupy.
  • Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

2. Make the Doughnuts:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, forming a thick batter.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Using a spoon or a doughnut cutter, carefully drop doughnut batter into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

3. Prepare the Crumble Topping:

  • In a small bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Add the cubed cold butter and, using a fork or pastry cutter, work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Spread the crumble mixture onto a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

4. Glaze the Doughnuts:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to form a smooth glaze.
  • Dip each cooled doughnut into the glaze and let the excess drip off.

5. Assemble the Peach Cobbler Doughnuts:

  • Once the doughnuts are glazed, cut a small slit on top of each one to create a pocket for the peach filling.
  • Spoon the cooled peach filling into the center of each doughnut.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the filled doughnuts.

6. Serve:

  • Allow the doughnuts to set for a few minutes, so the filling and topping stick together.
  • Enjoy your homemade Krispy Kreme-style Peach Cobbler Doughnuts!

These doughnuts will have the soft, fluffy texture of Krispy Kreme doughnuts with the rich flavors of a peach cobbler—perfect for a sweet treat!
