Lazy Man’s Pie Peach Cobbler

Posted on July 29, 2025
Here’s a super simple, no-fuss version of Lazy Man’s Peach Cobbler — also known as Lazy Man’s Pie. This classic Southern-style dessert uses pantry staples and takes just minutes to throw together!

🍑 Lazy Man’s Peach Cobbler (a.k.a. Pie Cobbler)

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 can (15–16 oz) sliced peaches in syrup (don’t drain)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional topping)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Melt butter and pour it into a 9×9 inch or 9×13 inch baking dish (depending on how thick you want your cobbler).

  3. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth — no need to overmix.

  4. Pour the batter directly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

  5. Spoon the peaches (with all the syrup!) evenly over the top of the batter. Still, do not stir. The batter will rise around the peaches while baking.

  6. Sprinkle cinnamon on top, if desired.

  7. Bake for 40–50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

  8. Let it cool slightly before serving. Great warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

🔄 Variations:

  • Fresh or frozen peaches? You can use ~2 cups sliced fresh or frozen peaches + 1/2 cup sugar and a bit of water to mimic the syrup.

  • Other fruit: Try it with berries, apples, or cherries!

  • Brown sugar topping: Sprinkle a little brown sugar on top before baking for a deeper caramelized crust.

Let me know if you want a small-batch version or one for a crowd!
