Lemon Butter Crab is a rich and flavorful dish that combines the sweetness of crab with the bright tang of lemon and the richness of butter. Here’s a simple recipe to prepare Lemon Butter Crab:

Lemon Butter Crab Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs fresh crab legs (king or snow crab work well)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the crab:
    • If using frozen crab legs, make sure they are fully thawed. You can do this by running them under cold water or letting them thaw in the refrigerator.
  2. Cook the crab:
    • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Add the crab legs and cook for about 5 minutes (or follow the package instructions if using pre-cooked crab). Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the lemon butter sauce:
    • In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.
    • Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, red pepper flakes (if using), and season with salt and pepper.
    • Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. Toss the crab in the sauce:
    • Add the cooked crab legs to the pan and toss them in the lemon butter sauce, making sure the crab is well coated.
    • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the crab to absorb the flavors.
  5. Garnish and serve:
    • Remove the crab legs from the pan and place them on a serving platter.
    • Pour any remaining lemon butter sauce over the crab.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

This dish is perfect for a special seafood dinner, and it pairs wonderfully with crusty bread or a side of roasted vegetables. Enjoy the luscious, buttery, and zesty crab!
