Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for making no-oven stovetop bread, perfect for those who want freshly baked bread without using an oven!

No-Oven Stovetop Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water (or as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for flavor)

Instructions

1. Mix the Dry Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

2. Add Water:

  • Gradually add water (and olive oil, if using) to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms. It should be soft but not sticky. Adjust the water or flour as needed.

3. Knead the Dough:

  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.

4. Shape the Dough:

  • Divide the dough into 2-4 equal portions, depending on the size of bread you want. Shape each portion into a round or flat disc.

5. Prepare the Pan:

  • Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over low to medium heat. You can lightly grease it with oil if desired.

6. Cook the Bread:

  • Place the shaped dough into the heated pan. Cover the pan with a lid. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on one side, until the bottom is golden brown.
  • Flip the bread and cover again, cooking for another 5-7 minutes on the other side until fully cooked and golden.

7. Cool and Serve:

  • Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool slightly on a wire rack. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!

This stovetop bread is quick to make and can be enjoyed with butter, jam, or as a side to your favorite dishes!
