Here’s a classic Oatmeal Cookies recipe that’s easy to make, delicious, and perfect for a treat any time of the day!

Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.

  2. Cream the butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

  3. Add the eggs and vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.

  5. Add oats and mix-ins: Stir in the oats until the dough comes together. If you’d like, fold in raisins, chocolate chips, or any other mix-ins like nuts or dried fruit.

  6. Scoop the dough: Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are set. The cookies will firm up as they cool, so don’t worry if they seem a little soft when you first take them out.

  8. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a couple of minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

  • For chewier cookies, don’t overbake them. Take them out when they’re just golden around the edges.
  • If you prefer crispy cookies, leave them in a minute or two longer.
  • You can also add a pinch of nutmeg or other spices if you want to switch up the flavor!

These Oatmeal Cookies are soft, chewy, and absolutely delicious. They’re perfect with a glass of milk or as a sweet snack! Enjoy!
