Oven-Dried Strawberries

Posted on June 28, 2025

Here’s a super simple, healthy, and sweet snack recipe: Oven-Dried Strawberries! 🍓 Low and slow baking turns juicy strawberries into chewy, naturally sweet fruit chips—like candy, but better for you.

🍓 Oven-Dried Strawberries

✅ No dehydrator needed

✅ Naturally sweet—no added sugar

✅ Great for snacks, granola, or topping yogurt

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 1–2 lbs fresh strawberries, hulled

  • (Optional) a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Set oven to 200°F (95°C).

    • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Prepare the Strawberries:

    • Wash and hull the strawberries.

    • Slice evenly into ⅛ to ¼ inch slices. Thinner = crispier, thicker = chewier.

  3. Optional Step:

    • Lightly spritz or brush with lemon juice to enhance flavor and preserve color.

  4. Arrange & Bake:

    • Lay slices in a single layer on your baking sheet—no overlapping.

    • Bake for 2–3 hours, flipping halfway through.

    • Time depends on thickness and desired texture (chewy vs. crisp).

    • They’re done when dry to the touch with a leathery or slightly crisp texture.

  5. Cool & Store:

    • Let cool completely on the tray—they’ll continue to firm up as they cool.

    • Store in an airtight container at room temp for 3–5 days (or freeze for longer shelf life).

🌟 Tips:

  • Check them often toward the end of baking to avoid burning.

  • Try with other berries or even thinly sliced kiwi or apples.

  • Great for kids’ lunchboxes, trail mix, or DIY cereal mix!
