Pioneer Woman Sausage Gravy

Posted on October 30, 2023

The Pioneer Woman, whose real name is Ree Drummond, is known for her delicious recipes, and her sausage gravy is no exception. Here’s a basic recipe for Pioneer Woman’s Sausage Gravy:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Biscuits (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork sausage over medium-high heat. Use a spatula to break up the sausage into small pieces as it cooks. Cook until the sausage is browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the milk while stirring constantly. Continue to stir until the mixture thickens and comes to a gentle simmer. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Once the sausage gravy has thickened to your desired consistency, season it with salt and pepper to taste. Be cautious with the salt, as the sausage is already salty, so you may not need much. Stir to combine.
  5. Serve the sausage gravy over freshly baked biscuits. You can also serve it over toast, potatoes, or rice if you prefer.

Enjoy your homemade Pioneer Woman Sausage Gravy! It’s a hearty and delicious breakfast or brunch option that’s perfect for satisfying your comfort food cravings.
