Here’s a unique and delicious recipe for Strawberry Wet Wings. These wings are coated in a sweet and tangy strawberry sauce that adds a refreshing twist to the classic chicken wing.

Strawberry Wet Wings

Ingredients

  • For the Wings:
    • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the Strawberry Sauce:
    • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
  • For Garnish:
    • Fresh chopped cilantro or parsley
    • Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Wings:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
    • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and black pepper, then toss with olive oil to coat evenly.
    • Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  2. Make the Strawberry Sauce:
    • While the wings are baking, prepare the strawberry sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, honey, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
    • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries break down and the sauce thickens slightly, about 10-15 minutes.
    • Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Coat the Wings:
    • Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
    • In a large bowl, toss the wings with the strawberry sauce until they are well-coated.
  4. Serve:
    • Transfer the coated wings to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro or parsley and sliced green onions.

Enjoy your Strawberry Wet Wings! They’re a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors, perfect for a unique appetizer or main dish.
