Making sugar cookies in the air fryer is a great way to get them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Here’s a simple recipe for air fryer sugar cookies:

Air Fryer Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  3. Shape the Cookies:
    • Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
    • Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
  4. Air Fry the Cookies:
    • Place the sugar-coated dough balls in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each cookie.
    • Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The cookies should still be soft in the center.
    • Check at the 5-minute mark and adjust the time as needed. Do not overcook, as they will continue to firm up as they cool.
  5. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the cookies to cool in the air fryer basket for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
