Texas Roadhouse Rolls

Posted on March 30, 2024

Texas Roadhouse rolls are famous for their soft, buttery texture and delicious flavor. While the exact recipe may be proprietary, here’s a copycat recipe that closely resembles the taste and texture of Texas Roadhouse rolls:

Ingredients:

For the rolls:

  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 4-4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

For the cinnamon honey butter:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
  2. Add the salt, beaten egg, and vegetable oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour, 1 cup at a time, stirring with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic. Add more flour as needed if the dough is too sticky.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 20 equal-sized pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them on a greased baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  7. Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  9. While the rolls are baking, prepare the cinnamon honey butter. In a small bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, honey, and ground cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
  10. Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  11. Serve the warm Texas Roadhouse rolls with the cinnamon honey butter on the side for dipping.

Enjoy these homemade Texas Roadhouse rolls as a delicious addition to any meal!
