THE BEST MIXED GRILL

Posted on June 30, 2024

Creating the best mixed grill involves combining a variety of meats and vegetables grilled to perfection. Here’s a guide to making a delicious mixed grill:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb steak (such as ribeye, sirloin, or skirt steak)
  • 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb Italian sausage or bratwurst
  • 1 lb assorted vegetables (bell peppers, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Marinades or seasonings of your choice (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meats:
    • If using marinades, marinate the steak, chicken, shrimp, and sausage separately for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Preheat the Grill:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400-450°F or 200-230°C).
  3. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • Cut the vegetables into large chunks or slices. Toss them in olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Grill the Meats and Vegetables:
    • Place the steak, chicken, sausage, and vegetables on the grill. Cook each type of meat to its desired doneness, flipping once halfway through cooking:
      • Steak: Grill for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to desired doneness.
      • Chicken: Grill for about 6-8 minutes per side until fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).
      • Shrimp: Grill for about 2-3 minutes per side until opaque and cooked through.
      • Sausage: Grill for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  5. Grill the Vegetables:
    • Grill the vegetables until they are tender and lightly charred, turning occasionally. Cooking times may vary depending on the vegetable size and type.
  6. Rest and Serve:
    • Remove the meats and vegetables from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
    • Slice the steak and sausage into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Arrange and Garnish:
    • Arrange the grilled meats and vegetables on a large platter or individual plates.
    • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
  8. Serve:
    • Serve the mixed grill with your favorite sauces or condiments on the side, such as chimichurri, barbecue sauce, or tzatziki.

Tips:

  • Temperature Control: Ensure your grill is at the right temperature for each type of meat to achieve the desired doneness without burning.
  • Vegetable Variety: Use a variety of colorful vegetables for visual appeal and different flavors.
  • Customization: Feel free to customize the marinades and seasonings to suit your taste preferences.

This mixed grill is perfect for gatherings and outdoor barbecues, offering a variety of flavors and textures that everyone will enjoy. Adjust the quantities and types of meats and vegetables based on your preferences for the ultimate mixed grill experience!
